MSF Warns Israeli NGO Rules Could Endanger Gaza Healthcare
According to MSF, the regulations may result in the withdrawal of registration for INGOs beginning January 1, effectively blocking groups—including MSF—from delivering essential services in Gaza and the West Bank.
“With Gaza’s health system already destroyed, independent and experienced humanitarian organizations losing access to respond would be a disaster for Palestinians,” the organization stated.
“MSF calls on the Israeli authorities to ensure that INGOs can maintain and continue their impartial and independent response in Gaza,” the statement continued.
MSF emphasized that the already limited humanitarian response “cannot be further dismantled.”
Pascale Coissard, MSF’s emergency coordinator for Gaza, highlighted the scale of the group’s work: “In the last year, MSF teams have treated hundreds of thousands of patients and delivered hundreds of millions of liters of water.”
She added that MSF teams are aiming to broaden their assistance to Gaza’s devastated health system, having conducted nearly 800,000 outpatient consultations and treated over 100,000 trauma cases in 2025. The organization intends to continue reinforcing its operations in 2026, provided registration is approved.
